about

I grew up in Colorado and became interested in art and music as a child. I drew cartoons, did oil painting, pen and ink, and calligraphy. Because of my interest in calligraphy I became a "signpainter" or "signartist" at a time when hand lettering was still being used in sign shops. I moved to Indiana and worked in signs and graphic arts, eventually working in computer graphics and digital art. I later became passionate about woodcuts and printmaking as a fine art medium and began pursuing it. Photography increasingly began to play a part because of a need for original material from which to form ideas for making my art. My work has been shown in galleries, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and local coffee shops in the Indiana city where I live. I have my art on a number of web galleries also including art.com. Much of my printmaking art is depicting Indiana and Colorado. I have a gallery of my own work in fine art and photography at www.rstreetgallery.com)I have had my own business for over 25 years, most of the time under the name Artsign.biz which has been basically visual and graphic design for printed material such as busienss cards, brochures, etc., signs (indoor and outdoor), banners and trade show displays and some website layout and graphics.

Font Design & Calligraphy

I started out in the sign business 25 years ago as an lettering artist and calligrapher working in hand lettering of many fonts, letter styles and layouts. Since that time I have also worked in computer printing and digital typefaces and digital design. I can help you to choose the right fonts and I can even create a unique font for your project or logo.

Hand lettering, pen and ink quill lettering and calligraphy are part of my abilities. When completed on paper I can scan them digitally for use in print or web for your project.

This experience has been in fine art, comercial signs, logo designing, banners, trade show displays, brochures, flyers, business cards, coupons, etc., and I can offer this experince to you as my customer.

I now am doing web videos to go on Youtube that will link back to a customers site which is also a good SEO technique for website visability. On the right are 3 videos (the controller is under the player).

I work with the photos and video footage they provide and I can also do some local photography/video shooting. I edit and also can do music (my own original) and sound effects in the back ground. I also do animated GIF's that are a file like a small movie or slide show for your website. Click here (see bottom of the page).

Website Designing

I do simple websites, and I can put in ecommerce, galleries, flash, html, xhtml, some css, special buttons, paypal, photo effects, animated pictures and gifs, etc. I can design and set your website up. I can host it, maintain and edit it for you. This website that you are on is an example of my work and it is also a flash site.

I can help with the SEO. I also create a mobile site with flash sites and I hook up a local Google places page for my customers as part of the service.
